To Oxford or not...

I'm presuming it's a busy time of year as Blogs are quite quiet.

The Phyo's are facing their first big, real married decision. He wants white bread i want brown, just joking.

Our present dilema is whether to move from the loud sirens and busy streets of London to the sweet idylic roads of Oxford (i've never been to Oxford but all the pictures are pretty). Trevor's been offered job, a good one it seems, which has left us both in a bit of a pickle.

Do we take this good oppurtunity now or hold out and see if something similar happens in London?
Do we leave our newly found friends (who i really like) and start again?
Do we move to a place where we don't know anyone or stay in a City with easy travel to close friends & family?
Do we wait and see if i get a job or do we decide to go and start looking there?
Do we say no to a job that we may not be able to match?
Do we leave a good place of worship and hunt again?
Do we do London now coz we're probably not gonna do it again?

Those questions may seem somewhat leading, as you can tell my heart is inclined towards London, Trevor's too. But we don't want to pass something by which may be a great oppurtunity. Plus Oxford seems a gorgeous place to live, it's not too far from family, and i like new things. But yet we like it here. ...Fiddlesticks!

Also cons:

I've built r'ships with school's & potentially cud get trainned this Sept at an excellent training school, moving means starting again, prob not enough time to get to know Oxford schools, so won't get trainned till Next year - loose another year.
Also applying for another job here which may come to no avail, but dont' know yet.

Yes.

Go with your heart or with logic but dont get confused with finding the 'right' answer. We're encouraged to see life as not a random series of events but of choices that are leading somewhere, and we need to make the right ones or we wont end up where we're sposed to. But I dont think that's true. You just have to go with what youre comfortable with, and if you're not at peace with it, that's what makes it 'wrong'.

Oxford is beautiful. But London is for young people.

Ki i can't be of much help, I don't know! But what I do know is I'll visit you where ever you are!

where do you want to be in 5 years time? cos Jobs like that dont come along very often.

we are flapping now about moving too. Its amazing how you dont think you're attached to something then you realise how much you are. Friends are indeed a massive pull. but at the beginning of the year I thought we'd never make new friends in Brum, but now we have a set I dont want to leave behind!!

So you will always make new friends wherever you are.

I guess I might sound bias to oxford. perhaps selfishly so I can come visit you without getting scared!!

Congratulations Mr. Phyo on your success!

I like Jodies advice, where do you want to be in the future and how would this job fit into that plan?

I'm a little disturbed that your husband is called 'kingdong' on the links. is he felling a little insecure about his anatomy?

Hi Kiera! Thought I'd pop up and say hi! Decisions, decisions...so bloody hard innit. What do you do when your head tells you you should be in one place, your heart tells you you should be in another?
I don't have the answer for that yet.
Maybe you just have to make a decision and go for it, and try to forget the other options when you've decided on one thing?

Hello Jo!!! So happy you popped in. Please come again. I agree with the not rethinking other decisions when decidced. x

Hi Kiera. My sister found your blog on a link from Joel's and then told me about it - we think you're a good blogger and very funny. This is my first ever blog read and then comment - I am a blog noob. Another big decision then - but we both know just how much you love big decisions and how easy you find it to make them quickly :-)
It's a tough call but I'm sure you will follow your heart and the answer will be there.
We haven't heard anything re adoption yet which is hard but another learning curve on the old trusting God thing. On the positive side, we have a new baby in the family - my sis Han has had another baby - a boy would you believe - Jude - my mom and dad now have 8 grandsons and no grand daughters yet ......
We only have 2 more sundays at Dame Elizabeth venue, then we are moving to the city centre and meeting at St Martins on an afternoon (until our venue is ready).
The boys are all well - Josh is revising for his GCSE's which is wierd.
We are going away for a couple of days next week with some friends who we met through adoption so looking forward to that.

Hope to hear from you soon - I'll be reading your blog!!!!

Lots of love Keely xxxxx

Wonderful to hear from you Keely!! Welcome to the bloggin world.

I heard about moving to St.MArtins, that's very very exciting.- great place to be, truely city centre!
Congratulations on becoimng an Auntie again, we're waiting on my cousin's baby which should come anytime today, she's just been induced.
Simon recently said you'd had still no adoption news... sounds like a hard wait. Is it often this long a wait. I remember to send prayers up for you all.

We went to see Oxford today, first time i've been i think. It's gorgeous, but neither of us are super excited about the option to move at the moment. Oh dear!!!!

Otherwise, London is fab and life is treating us well.
Much love, enjoy your holiday this week!
